Yoga classes

Nourishing your body, mind and soul

I  am all for a good stretching session or a great work out, however, it trully saddens me to see those practices marketed under the guise of Yoga.  Besides, Asanas (Yoga poses) which have been popularized in the western world in those last decades  do only represent an infinitesimal portion of this thousands years old science

There are many classical source Yoga texts that through centuries have transmitted us this philosophy and that any Yoga Instructor should be familiar with, however fortunately for students not interested in the intensive study of those texts, there is still the possibility of receiving the benefits derived from it, through an experienced Yoga instructor.

A good Yoga class has the ability to help us to delve deeper into our essence and has to go beyond the body work.

There is a special magic that occurs in a Yoga class whenever we’re completely present in the moment. This type of practice has many repercussions in our lives. It triggers subtle changes that will consolidate over time, not only by providing direct physical benefits, but improving the overall quality of our lives dramatically

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of Yoga with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time. Yin Yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. It also helps us to regulate the body’s flow of energy.

Hatha yoga is the yoga tradition most familiar to Western culture. The term is derived from the Sanskrit ha, meaning “sun,” and tha, meaning “moon.” The practice aims to unite the active and receptive qualities represented by those two celestial beings.

In Hatha yoga, we use physical alignment and breathing control to achieve an equilibrium between the active body and its universe. The resulting harmony manifests itself as physical strength, physiological health and emotional well-being
